Obituary of Florence Jessie Michel

Florence J. Michel, (nee Davis), age 93, died on July 2, 2015. Born and raised on the family farm in Bunker Hill (Washington Twp, NJ), Florence was a graduate of Glassboro High School in 1940. She stayed home to raise her family and then went to work as a secretary for Underwood Memorial Hospital. For over 30 years, Florence worked for Duffield's Farm Market. She was a former member of the Chapel Heights United Methodist Church where she served as President of the Woman's Society. Florence loved being a homemaker and gardening. One of her greatest joys was caring for her grandson Scotty. She was the wife of the late Albert "Bud". Survived by her daughters Florence (the late Roy) Duncan, Jean (the late Elman) Lansdowne, grandchildren Walter "Scotty" Emond, Mark David Emond, Kenneth R. and Thomas A. Lansdowne and 8 great grandchildren. Florence was one of 7 children, and is predeceased by her brothers William F. and Woodrow W. Davis. She is survived by her brothers Carlton B. and David S. Davis, sisters Viola S. Hickman and Edith A. Bruce, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family from 7-9pm on Wednesday, and after 10am on Thursday in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ 08071. Funeral service will be 11am.
