Jack was a family friend for as long as I can remember. He and Joan gave me my first job as a bus boy at Jack R's. Though I didn't know him half as well as I would have liked, it was easy to see the strength of his character through his actions. I got to see him last year for the first time in a few years, and it brought a great amount of joy to my heart. Rest In Peace Jack.

Jack & Joan have been good friends, since the 1980s, when we first met them. Many, many times we shared breakfast with both of them at Fireside. More recently with Jack at our extended Weds. morning breakfast group that included Chris & Jim Armstrong, Bill & Lea Glazer, Senior Chief Jim Emerick, Bill White and Ted Pholig. They spanned a lot of years; a lot of food and a lot of great and wonderful memories. Many times, after breakfast, Jack and I would sit in the car (in his driveway) and just talk. He was a good man, a great cook and wonderful friend. Although Carol and I will miss him...I, especially, will miss that wonderful man, BIG TIME, and our weekly breakfasts together!!!! May you be with GOD, where he will bless you always! Bye....

I always looked forward to Wednesday mornings at the Fireside Restaurant, I would meet for breakfast with friends, and a special friend Jack Rubin. Jack would share great stories of his time in the military and his career. I had a great deal of respect for this self made man and true friend. Fare winds and a following sea Jack.
